Esquire Billing is the end result of a small firm's request for a simple billing and invoicing solution.
Junkie Solutions was approached to develop a solution to the problems the firm had been dealing with for years of trying to make accounting software work for managing separate trust accounts, as well as provide invoicing to their client base. Off the shelf software for law firms was typically too granular and much of the programs were not designed with small practice in mind. In short, they just tried to do too much and therefore performed poorly on the tasks that the firm actually needed the software to complete.
Junkie Solutions developed a project scope based on the customer's direction and needs and presented the proposal for review. The project was not cost effective to the client. Unfortunately, custom software design takes a good bit of man hours to complete and the cost is not small in most instances. However, we saw a need for the software and as such offered to produce the product anyhow, and changed the pricing model to a subscription based product. With a reasonable monthly fee the customer is now able to have their custom software and Junkie Solutions is able to realize our development costs by selling the product to other small firms.
This project was challenging and rewarding for both the customer and Junkie Solutions. We were pleased to be able to find an arrangement that worked well for both companies in the end.
